Storytelling with Ease workshop with Massachusetts storyteller Karen Chace

Date: Saturday, July 16th, 2011
Time: 1pm – 4pm
Location: Gower Street United Church Hall (downstairs), St. John's, Newfoundland
Admission: $20 Pre-register at: storytelling@nf.sympatico.ca
Perfect For: Educators, Librarians, Students and Adults interested in exploring and learning the art of Oral Tradition

A fun and interactive workshop for those who wish to open the door to a world full of stories. Explore the basic skills needed to begin your own journey: story selection, rehearsal methods, visualization and relaxation techniques, gestures and body language, stage presence and more! Discover ways to put participation into your stories and come away with new tales to share.

No storytelling experience is required, just a willingness to learn and play in this supportive and fun environment. The goal is to encourage beginners to “put the book down,” and begin to tell! If you consider yourself to be an intermediate storyteller, please join us as well. An extensive handout will assist you in continuing.
